According to 866-ask-mini my 2008 MCS is "Scheduled for production but with no confirmed production date yet."

Has anyone who has ordered an '08 had their mini built yet, or have a production date yet?

Note: I ordered mine N0v. 24th, so I'm hoping to see it in early January.

Mine is, scheduled for completion 12/4/07. Mine is also mellow yellow.

 

i was given a production date for my 08 as Dec. 4. I checked today and mini said that it was being painted today and will be finished with production on the 4th. Maybe have it in NY last week in Dec. HO Ho HO

You and I ordered our MINIs on nearly the same date, Larry Data. RUSS, SUNGER when did you order? I check at the Owner's Lounge almost hourly, but it continues to say ON ORDER. Did you call anybody to get more updated data, 866-ASK-MINI, for instance.

 

It's the same for me. I keep checking and it says "on order". I called the automated ask-mini and it said "Scheduled for production but with no confirmed production date yet."

I called Ask-Mini again and talked to a real person who said there wasn't a date yet, but that I'm down for week 49.

Call and talk to a real person-they are amazingly nice.

I ordered mine last Tuesday, November 27th.

 

I ordered on the 24th.

 

I ordered on the 23 of November and I was told it went into production December 1. Yippee!

 

Today I called Ask-Mini and they said my Mini went to production Dec 1st, and should be done by this Saturday (Dec 8th). Then it'll be "wait for the boat" time!

Yeah, I called today and got the same exact info. Are you on the east or west coast, LarryData? I wonder if we'll be sharing the same boat? Hmmm. This is like waiting for Christmas, no wait....

 

My 08 was completed as of the 28th and waiting for a ride across the pond. Breathless anticipation ensues.

I'm on the East Coast in Western MA, although my dealer is in Hartford, CT. Should be a short trip from the VDC in NJ to Hartford, but I'm sure the waiting will still feel like forever.

Where are you? Left Coast? Right Coast?

Oh, I see you're in NM, so will your Mini land in CA, then hitch a ride on a car carrier?

Right of center I guess. I'm in New Mexico, just north of El Paso, TX. Long boat trip, longer time on the car carrier. February seems like forever.

 

Let us know SD929 what shipping vessel your MINI ends up on. We'll all keep our eyes peeled with you...

 

My status in the OL just says "awaiting transport" , I assume by going to the shipping site listed in the sticky it would pop up when a ship is available right?

You could go to the shipping line and put in your VIN... that would tell you if its on the manifest... I think.

 

Yeah, nothing shows up, no matter how many times I do it!... This is the link listed in "tracking your mini" sticky

 

I wonder if your MINI, SD, is on a non-WW ship and therefore not easily tracked.

Also, there are currently 70 '08s on the AIDA according to cargo IDs, which ported Port Why-E-Me today, I believe. Guess they didn't take a couple weeks off to re-tool. I suppose, though, some of these VINs could be other cars but they look suspiciously similar to my WMWMF... Thoughts?
