Factory 15" Holies on MCS?

For some reason I love the factory holies and think they would look sick with a machined lip and a slammed MCS. I've read that they don't clear the brakes on the MCS but would this be resolved with a 15mm spacer or is it for reasons other than offset?

And if you've put these on a lowered MCS and have pics please post.

Are you talking about an R56 or one of the 1st-gen cars? Holies fit over 1st-gen 'S' brakes just fine.

I've run my holies on the Liberator for one winter, going on two... only wish I had a full set of white ones, but I too like the look... They bring down the body a bit so I have to EASE over the driveway curbing and some low spots on the way to Menard's...

I use holies on my 2005 convertible during the winter. I've heard that that won't work over the Works brakes but they are fine on my S.

Woohoo I guess they must've been referring to the R56 and I mis-read it.

Onto part 2, anyone have pics of the holies on an MCS?

What size tires are you all running with these? I don't want a thick sidewall so I was thinking like a 175/50 or so would work?

I basically just want to pick up a set for cheap so that I can swap between wheels as I get bored easily. Kinda want to make them a little project and get them painted and lips machined/polished...

I picked up the holies with all season tires from the dealer . . . some wheels he'd taken off for someone and just wanted to get rid of. . . seems like $300 for all four. The have 175/65-15 tires. I think 50 profile tires would be very small, throw the speedometer way off and create other oddities.

A set of Holies with 50-series rubber makes for a nice autocross setup, but you're right - they are significantly shorter than the stock wheel/tire combo. If you were to use 175/50-15 tires, your speedometer would read almost 10% too fast just from the tire change alone, plus the extra few percent that's designed into the speedometer system.

For the R56 MCS- the larger brakes won't allow any stock 15" MINI OEM wheel.

For all other MINIs with the standard front brakes you can use the 15x5.5" Holey wheels just fine. All R53 MC or MCS (No JCW brakes), all cabrios (no JCW brakes) and all R56 MC.

If you want stock ride quality and height then use 205/55-15 tires
For 50 series tires then 205/50-15 but it is smaller than stock tire diameter but usable (larger wheel gap if you have stock suspension) or even 195/50-15 (even smaller but some nice performance tires are available like Bridgestone Potenza RE-01R).

For more comfort 185/65-15 is fine or even 195/60-15.

Notice that the 15" rim gives you choices of various sized sidewalls from 50 series for better performance to 55/50/65 series for more comfort and greater tire selection.

Here is a 2003 MCS with Bilstein PSS9 coilovers and 1.8" drop and 15" Holey rims with 205/50-15 Michelin Pilot Sport Cup tires.

They fit and are awesome! Too bad I had to get rid of these...(didn't fit over 11.75 with a 5mm spacer):

They do look sweet, I'm needing new rubber for my S-Lites anyways so if I find a set for cheap with tires I'll jump on them.

I don't plan to auto-x with these I just love the look lol. I was thinking of going with a 175mm width because I don't want the tire bulging out past the lips of the wheel. I think a 175/55 would be my best bet, I find the 65 too large for my tastes and a 50 would be too thin I think.

Keep the input and pics coming.
