Webb Motorsports R56 Development
Webb Motorsports R56 Development
I have been holed up in the development phase for some time now, and I believe I am going about it the right way.
Some preliminary findings:
The ram air intake system I was hoping would make big numbers showed no real gain over a drop-in panel element in real world acceleration testing and on the dyno. I think that while this is a big disappointment, it is very good info to know as far as recommending effective changes for this car.
The intercooler may or may not be a big gain depending on other factors - I will elaborate on that in the coming weeks.
Suspension changes can be made to make the R56 perform as well or better than a very well tuned R53. The R56 can also use a 8" wheel and 235 tires without mods!
With all of the research, I have learned quite a bit about this car, and I think there is more to learn. I am going to be updating the site to reflect our changes in philosphy shortly. Webb Motorsports is going to be working toward being very focused to a few customers at a time by appointment instead of trying to tackle everything for everyone. I have never, and will continue not to, sell parts just because they sell. I am going to be offering just a select group of parts for the R53 and R56 that make significant and valuable changes based on what the car is used for by the customer.
Stay tuned for pictures of some of our new products that will be both offered and in development. A list of the stuff that works for the R56 - a catback, a drop-in filter, a rear swaybar, suspension changes. More ECU testing will be done before that will be offered, but the solution will be the best available.
Thanks for the continued support!
