Blizzak WS-50 215/45-17

My last car used the Blizzak WS-50 snow tires and i was hoping to use them on my Mini. Most of what i read online show that they will work. My tire guy was concerned that they would rub due to how close the stock tires were to the strut. My mini is a 07 with sport package (17" rims with 205/45-17). Anyone have hands on experience or can say give me a heads up?

PS
I was gonna have the dealership put the on, but they wanted $180!!!! The tire guy in my town usually charges me about 60 or 70.

Thanks

-Will

215/45-17 fit my Kosei (7.5" wide) wheels on an 04 R53. No rubbing. Not sure re: R56.
