I keep my "off tires" in a shed out back, no fancy covers. It doesn't get lower than 40 F deg in there and it's dry, UV free. It has kept the stock contis from my sister's 02 MC crack free and functioning for more than 5 years. Yes they are old, and need to be replaced based on age, I know that, but I'm cheap.
After removing my fair-weather wheels & tires in favor of winter wear, I clay the rims and then wax. I also dress the tires with Wizard Black Renew and then stick them up on my new TireRack storage:

Nice rack!

I need about 5 or 6 of those racks.
My kids are grown up so that valuable floor space would be freed up for...
More tires and wheels!

Drove home about 8 miles and going uphill in the last 1 mile before the gas station but never made it.
Called AAA and got a gallon of gas after my wife refused to help me.
