My name is Mark,I took delivery of a new Chilli Red JCW with all the JCW options from Shep Nelson @ Alexander in So. Cal about two weeks ago,I have added all the Alta tubes and had them installed at Mini Corsa in Van Nuys. The tubes have added an instant increase in power and the engine has come alive. The engine is definitely throatier and the low end power has increased noticeably over the stock JCW kit.The Alta tubes seemed to have really done the job it was designed for.The car was also lowered with the H&R springs and the Alta 22 mm sway bar was added on the softer setting. We also added camber plates on the front along with strut tower plates. Then it was completey realigned front and back. The car is too much fun and so much better than my R53.Adam was great in his help getting me all the parts. The car also has Hamann 17x8 rims that helped the ride and handeling as well.If you get get the tubes installed,do it...You will love the power and the growl of the engine...enjoy

1-2 Weeks estimated.

I've been dealing directly with Adam at ALTA who is one of the friendliest, most helpful guys i've dealt with.

Mark,

Seat of the pants, do you think the tubes have added the 20hp that it did on ALTA's car with their mods?.

Also, has the muffler delete tube altered the gear change stiffness at all?. This has been mentioned by another member.

Just to get back to you,I am not sure what it has added, but the the car is Faster and smoother and for sure Throatier,I do not understand the other comments about the gear box being affected, that still is super smooth.I think the software on the JCW kit is adapting to its new found ability to breathe or so I am told by one of our tech friends at Mini...I can only say,I do not think you will be dissapointed.I am sorry I have no pictures,I am terrible at this stuff, but I am going by the dealer hopefully tomorrow, they want some pictures of the car since this is there first Works car fully loaded with the goodies from JCW,I will try to have them help to get the tubes and the car on the site..take care and happy koldays

There was one member who posted on here about how he replaced the intercooler muffler with a piece of pipe. He mentioned that the gear shift after this mod was stiffer between / engaging each gear ?.

Yeah i did contact him to query this, as they are on back order at ALTA. He admitted that he was awating stock from ALTA and he wasn't sure how long the wait would be.

Good time to be Alta

I wonder if this is real supply and demand or are they trying to increase sales by 'not having it in stock' This is how yamaha does business as to not flood the market.
