MINI Canada is including a free nav and Bluetooth setup with the purchase of a new car.

I should have waited and driven up to Canada!

Where did you find this out.

I'm in the midst of buying a MCS (in Canada) so that is useful info. Is there a cash discount for not taking the NAV system?

I would think that that is just "setup", meaning if you have them already installed on the car, they would configure it to work with your phone and location? If not, I'm going to push my dealer to hook me up.

Also, Mini Canada has waived the security deposit for November and lowered it's finance rate to 5.9%

I found out about the security deposit from the dealer when I set up the purchase 2 weeks ago. (And picking up this week!!)

As for the "setup" I have no clue, I just think it wouldn't make any sense to give away something that huge. I'd think it would be something else, namely setting up your system and waiving the labour.

For clarification this is the MINI re-badged Garmin Nuvi nav... not the Nav package that replaces the speedo.

A MCS with the Chili pack (similar to sport and premium, minus the sunroof if I remember right) is running about 30,900 in Canada. Considering the Loonie is basiclly on par with the US Dollar right now, getting a $700 GPS and blootooth isn't that good of a deal.

I'll give a 15% discount on the purchase price (as a refund) to anyone who orders a **** on Black Friday and mentions this post in a note with their order. How's that?

If I didn't already have a Whalen **** I would jump on that. Robin makes beautiful shift ***** and 15% off is a great deal!! They would make great Christmas gifts for MINI owners.

Where can I find this information in writing? Is this only for new purchases or does it include leases too?

The re-badged garmin would still be nice to have, but since the car prices in Canada seem to be a bit more (a 07 S with sport and premium is 24,450), you are right, it's not such a great deal.

Some people go for a wooden **** for winter and a Whalen for summer. They are very easy to swap.

Brake Handle?

Robin,

How is your research/experimentation on the wood brake handle coming? Any idea when you might be able to start production?

VicSkimmer, do you have any details about the Detailers Paradise Black Friday deal? I didn't see anything obvious on their website...

Good. I've done a one piece, all wood prototype. My next attempt will be a three piece that has blackwood ends and a burl center.

I haven't decided whether to have my cousin machine stainless steel end caps for me. I want to see how the two woods look, and how difficult it is to make.

Still have some things to resolve before I know whether sterling silver end caps are feasible.

Any thoughts on whether you would like stainless steel or sterling end caps? Or, is all wood appealing?

It was sent to me via MINI Canada. I'm just south of the border and registered with their site, too. I get periodic e-mails from them with specials and such. Check with any of the dealers this weekend. Just say you got the e-mail with the Nav and Bluetooth offer. I want to say it was good through the weekend (25th?).

I asked my MA and he's never heard of it. Would you be able to send me a copy of the email?
