Wow - nice pics! It's not too often you see a blown, flamed, tubbed Nash Metropolitan with wheelie bars! (At least, I *think* it was a Nash).

I think that's the same Ferrari 250 cab that just won a class at Monterrey, either way that's beautiful!

Whose the guy signing the autograph? (Reggie Jackson?) I think that's the first continetal kit I've seen on a MINI. I guess that's one way to deal with the no spare tire issue.

It is. Theres a dude in my area with a toothpaste green pro street Metropolotian. Its a sweet color when contrasted with white. Just a NA SBC. No blower, forget whether or not it has the bars. Whats up with the x'ed out Ferrari horse in the beginning?

The No-Ferrari's sign is on the back of the Daytona Coupe.

The Nash has 'over 1000hp' and insane blower surge - the driver does well to keep it all under control.

And Jim - yeah - Car **** FTW !

A TVR- that's a rare sight. I actually saw one Sunday -I can't remeber the model name but it's the one that looks a little like a TR-7.

That Nash is my new favorite grocery getter!

It looks like if I ever wanted to bring my car, I would have to wash it.

Whatever you do, please do not park even a mildly modified Mini with the 'interesting cars'.

Unless of course you want to wind me up

Unless you have something wild/exotic/classic or older and interesting, people will laugh at you.

A number of very stock Minis have been 'displayed', the comments that I hear are unprintable. The laughter when they leave is amusing.

Thats very interesting. Makes it sound like a gathering of snobs.

Where do the unclean masses park?

We (the unclean masses) park in the HUGE parking lots to each side.

Dunt(tm) get me too wrong, the gathering has - as you can see from the pics each week, many exotic and desirable cars that show up - one week 250+ Ferrari's turned up !

A $25K hot-hatch is not in even slightly the same league as, say concourse winning 250, or an ex-works Long-Nose D-Type or a Carrera GT, or......

Nearly everything that is parked in the 'show area' is special in one way or another. To park a largely standard Mini next to a 911R (1 or 20 or so survivors) is, in my opinion, somewhat deluded.

I agree with your points. I was unaware that the hoity-toity cars were seperate from the others. I see that it is an informal car show every Saturday. I'm just not a fan of higher-than-thou attitudes.

I think that the higher than thou attitude does not really exist.

What does exist is peer review and 'crowd reaction'. People expect to see 'special' cars, not marginally deluded drivers of normal / everyday cars.

Remember that this is the home of Car Culture - the bar is set pretty high.

Just come down one week and take a look for yourself.

Since I haven't been there, I shouldn't judge. Especially since the format is different from the usual "car show". I've been a fan of sports cars and hot rods for years so I look forward to a unique experience.
