Any issues with 17x7.5 +45mm Rotas?

I'm considering buying some 17x7.5" Rota Subzero wheels with +45mm offset for my R56 MCS. Will there be any issues with rubbing on stock suspesion? I'm concerned about the 7.5" width. I plan on equipping some 205/45R17 runflats, but I haven't decided on the specific tire.

Hey, Bishamon. Try reposting here and you should find a ton of info.

Best of luck

I considered posting there, but I wanted R56-specific information, so I figured this was my best bet. Still, I may have been wrong...

I think we really need a 2nd gen-specific wheel and tire section.

I like the Rota Subzeros. I had them on a previous car.

I can't answer the fitment question though. :(

Valid point - it's kind of strange as we have R56 specific threads on just about everything except for wheels/tires. However, as long as you specify in your post that you have a 2nd gen MINI, you're still likely to find the majority of information there. Keep an eye out for member minihune. He's often signed on and can be of great assistance for literally anything wheel/tire related.

Thanks for the info. I will post in that section as well, and hopefully I won't get in trouble for cross-posting.

205 mm width will be probably OK. I felt the gap between the front tire and the shock and my index finger filled the gap. That means there is barely 10mm of space. If the stock offset is 42 and you go any higher, the wheels will be closer to the shock by the difference. If the tire is 10 mm wider than stock the tires will be 10mm/2=5mm closer to the shock. I don't know what OEM 17" offset is.

if you need more info you can ask me

i have a 1st gen, 205 is fine, but 215 you might consider a set of 5-10mm spacer in the front as it starts to rub a teensy bit on the inside

btw, they are discontinued by rota, so looking for a set might prove difficult

i have a set right now that i am gonna run on the track

I posted this in the Wheels and Tires section earlier today...

I have 17" x 7.5" +45 Rota RBs with 215/45R17 tires and haven't experienced any rubbing whatsoever. So far. I know the wheels are different - but the spec is the same so I don't think you will have any issues with the Subzeros - if you can find some.

the issue wont be the wheels i think, it will matter with the tire's shape, some tires have a more squareish profile, and at which will likely rub more

This is true. I run 235/40R17 on 17x7.5" Rotas (two sets so far), with little or no rubbing.

Those wide tires would make my car tramline right out of my lane in WA/OR.
