Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season Initial Impressions
Goodyear Eagle F1 All Season Initial Impressions
A week ago, I replaced my Pirelli runflats with new Goodyear Eagle F1 All Seasons in the stock 205/45/17 size, and I have put about 250 miles on them in dry and wet conditions. Here are some initial impressions:
- Definitely smoother ride than my runflats. No more banging over expansion joints.
- Turn-in is slightly less crisp (maybe less frantic), but once they take a set they hang-on for ever. I have yet to get my stability control to turn on.
- Excellent in wet conditions
- Minimal tire whine
All-in-all an excellent choice for runflat replacements.
I'm carrying a Continental Tire ContiComfortKit, Dynaplugs, a AAA card and a cell phone. Hope I never have to use any of them. May try to pick-up a compact spare for long trips, but since I have the JCW brakes, a flat on the fronts would mean a double tire change.
If you are on the fence about dumping your runflats (as I was) and have the means, just do it.

I never thought that I would say that I can't wait till I put on my snow tires. They are so much quieter and more comfortable than the run flats. The snows are on now, but by next spring I'll have the Goodyears on my summer rims.
