Navigation & Audio Nav System (parts/weight?)
>>What parts does the Nav System consist of, and does anyone have a rough idea of how much extra weight these parts are (combined)?

>>Thank you in advance!
Albert-
I'm not sure exactly what information you're looking for, but I did use the Nav System at one dealer, and here's what I gleaned:
1. The Nav System (NS) monitor is located in the normal Speedometer position; so the speedo is moved next to the Tach (and reduced to about the same size), and located over the steering wheel
2. The only "user interface" for the NS is the monitor & buttons located in the circular area vacated by the Speedometer.
3. The CDROM that holds the MAPS for the NS is located under the passenger seat (according to the dealer rep)
4. The NS GPS antenna is located where the old "bee-sting" antenna was located (for the standard radio). It looks like a mini-shark fin (no pun intended), about 1-2" tall.
5. The Antenna for the car radio is located on the rear side windows; in appearance, it looks very much like the "heater wires" on the rear window.
Overall, I was very impressed. A very clean installation, and (as a side benefit) the only exposed "antenna" will fit under car covers (or car washes) without any concern for bending or damage.
Regarding "weight"; I would be very surprised if it added more than a few pounds.
