ABS, DSC and Flat Tire Lights All On

Just did my own brake job at 55,000 miles. Thanks to this site all went (relatively) smoothly. My left wheel, inside pad was completely worn and toasted the rotor. I only had pads and sensors so I put them on because I needed the car running. Good news is it still stops but the lights remained on.

I believe the rear caliper/piston is bad and caused the uneven wear. The right rear inside pad wear was fine as were all the front pads? Has anyone run into this problem and am I on the right track? I have no problem ordering a rotor, caliper and pads and redoing the problem wheel.

TIA,
Mike

Don't panic! My car starting doing this after a tire rotation. It has nothing to do with your brake work (or a least shouldn't). It is most likely a bad wheel speed sensor. Apparrently they are very prone to going bad. I have a 2004 MCS with 35K. Your car will still function fine but you will not have ABS or DSC with the lights on. I took my car to the track with this problem and only locked up the brakes once.

I haven't gotten mine fixed yet but it's on my list of things to do. Get to your dealer when you get a chance. Good luck!

Roger

Still had very uneven wear on rear left

Still seems like my caliper is having a problem if only the left inner rear completely wore out. The fact the flat tire light comes leads me to believe that the inside brake pad is dragging, but I'm certainly NOT a mechanic

I took Dr Evil (the 05 MCSC) in today to have new tires installed and no sooner got 100 yards down the street and the flat tire indicator light came on.

I'm not a mechanic by any means either, but I'm thinking the sensor was damaged in the process of replacing the tires.

I don't plan to worry about it right now because the next service is in a few thousand miles and MINI can fix it when they're replacing the brakes.

I'm having this problem intermittently. If I turn the car off, the lights go off for awhile. After talking to my service adviser and reviewing the symptoms, I'm beginning to think it's the right front wheel speed sensor or it's wiring. This evening I'll be poking around under there in search of a loose wire.
I'll let you know if I find anything.

What can I say!? For the last week, all three lights came on whenever I went over a bump like a rail crossing or a driveway curb. On my way home yesterday, the lights came on twice at predictable locations and then quit coming on at all. I went out of my way looking for bumps but none of them set the lights off. Weird!

Yep, now it's my 06 CR Cooper's turn to have the warning light come on. Just had the tires rotated and the light has been on for two days now. I tried resetting the light but it won't go out. Checked the tire pressure, just to be sure, they're A-OK.

Technology... not always a good thing. :impatient

The only time I had all those lights on was when I pulled one of the fuses for the ABS/DSC system. It was only to see what would happen, it was fun and helped me learn how effective ABS can be. A note for anyone wanting to try it, your speedo, odometer, etc wont work while the fuse is out.
