lauren (l.mini) got her S-spec sway bar from darksky (thanks!) today in the mail. when she got home, i wanted to pop out there and install it real quick. didn't realize that it was all up under the chassis and whatnot. but anyways, yeah... questions....

1) i measured the bar, and it was 16mm. i noticed that moss mini offers a 22mm aftermarket bar. i was wondering what the cooper (not the S) bar measures. just curious.

2) is there an easy way to install the bar? looking at it, looks like it'll require removing the spare tire to make it a little easier, as the bar runs above the exhaust and all like that. most sway bars that i've installed in the past were readily accessible, with nothing blocking the way to remove it. let me know what's up.

It seems like the MINI install is a bit more involved than other cars from what I can see.

The stock S bar is actually 17mm, but close enough. There are a couple of different bars out there, with the smallest being 15.5mm I believe (I don't have any here at the shop right now from the Cooper).

To remove the bar, take a look at the how-tos stapled at the top of this forum, it should help you out. If you still have questions, feel free to give me a call.
