Camber plate?

Is it necessary to have camber plates when you lower your car with coilover or springs?

For street driving only, no. If you like to drive and get the most out of your suspension and tires, yes.

Thanks guys!

I just didn't want a tuner shop to sell me something I do not need at this time - for daily driving.

For daily driving you can use the coilovers and be fine.

To get the most out of your suspension with coilovers or not you'll benefit from more negative front camber.

Stock front camber is -0.5 degrees usually. For the older MINIs this was not adjustable- 2002-2006 but for the R56 you can adjust it a little in the front to about -1.0.

For best use of the front tires on the track or for performance driving about -2.5 degrees is helpful but for daily driving you will wear a bit of the front inner edges of the tire running that much negative camber. It's not that horrible unless you do mostly long distance commuting then you'd be better off leaving the stock front camber as is.
