Window Tint

So I have an 05 MINI and it's under warranty till 2011, a friend of mine told me that if I tint the windows, I'll void my warranty. Is this true? I really don't want to wait 4 years to do this.

Boy I hope that is not true because I've already tinted my windows. I find it hard to believe that it would. Does that mean if I put a sticker on the window, my warranty is void?? I wouldn't think so.

It doenst void waranty unless the installer slices your interrior and that wouldnt be covered.

Or the tinted light somehow makes your engine blow and they can prove it in court.

otherwise no

Alright, thanx guys. How dark can I go? Should I get darkest legal on all windows, or go for limo tint? I was thinking about keeping them all the same %, I don't know if I like the darker rear and light front ones... What do you guys think/have?

my rear windows are all darker than the driver/passenger. The front windows are 27% but only because of SC limits.

I liked the darker rear windows just for look as well as keeping my rear/trunk more private but the difference is not big enough to look weird.

Your friend is either messing with you or grossly mis-informed! Fix-it-tickets on the other hand...

Did he say that with a straight face?
How did you not laugh at him?
