Camber Plates: Which one is the quieter?

As the title says, I'm looking for the quietest set of camber plates on the market. Well, adjustable camber plates, anyhow. I think they are still more noisy than the fixed ones, right? But anyhow...I read around a bit and I understood Helix and H-sport V2 are the quietest adj ones, is that right? And out of those two which one is the best?

The quietest ones are the fixed camber plates from Ireland Engineering. If you want an adjustable set then you are right, Helix or H-Sport.

Scott is 100% correct. My IE fixed plates are dead silent. Although that could change when I get around to installing them.

Sorry guys, couldn't help myself.

Update....

I finally got around to installing my IE fixed camber plates Saturday. Nice & quiet with the added benefit of -1.8 & -1.9 degrees of camber.

I never noticed any particularly bad NVH from the Helix camber plates, but I did install springs with them at the same time, so can't say for sure.

NVH are funny things. What some people feel & hear others do not.

Glad you like the Helix plates. I've heard good things about them. The only reason I went with the IE fixed camer plates was the cost. Found a nice deal here in the marketplace.

I have used the Ireland Street Rrack camber plates on many cars, including my own, and they are fully adjustable and very quite. and half the price as most other camber plates on the market. a good choice.

/respect to chad because he knows more about these cars then i ever will and has taught me a crapload.

however the ie race adjustable plates and street adjustable plates are a you get what you pay for item. I've had them on my car and have gone through 1 set of bearings in them and now they are loud as all getout. I will be replacing them soon with a more solid unit with better bearings such as the tsw plates.

However, for the price you can't beat the ie's. Mine didn't make noise until i had them in for about 10-12 months. They make the car feel amazing and cost next to nothing when compared with the competition. I've been happy with the money i've spent... but i don't think i would call my camber plates quiet.

that is the first time i have heard that. i am sure IE would replace them. i have always had good luck getting things replaced by them when strange things happen. there were a few issue with some of the very first units, but have not had any problems with any of them that have shipped in the last year or more.

i also sure that driving a car year round in all types of weather doesn't help much. my car sees mostly nice weather with just a bit of rain. it has stayed out of the snow and salt the last two years.

to be fair, i got mine from meb who had used them pretty hard before me. So these have seen better days... At any rate IE has been really really good about customer service and providing me with new bearings. (I'm on my second set right now)

I have over a year on my adj. plates and my car is a daily driver. Have had no issues as yet, and still very quiet.

I have a set of the prototype TSW camber plates on my MCS. They replaced a set of the 'new' H-Sport adjustables and they most definitely are quieter as in less NVH among other benefits like flatter cornering, easy adjustability, and a beefy design. The double bearing configuration is a work of art and really does make a difference. The geometry also may give you more than -2.1 camber without having to "adjust the heck out of" your strut towers. These camber plates are extremely well thought-out and well-built like everything else TSW sells, and at a great price point!

one i'd try to avoid is webb's plates... god it's awful, but i know it's safe, it's the beefiest of all camber plates out there afterall

i am interested in seeing people's experience with the eibach ones (badged SPC), it looks pretty good in terms of a noise perspective

There's really no need to go to adjustable camber plates unless you're running extreme lowering or intend on tracking the car on a regular basis. Fixed do the same thing. FWIW if you're going to get adjustable camber plates, spend the extra money to go to a set of coilovers, you'll be glad you did (Megan are reasonable but can be a tad bouncy, CROSS are great if you can afford them, that's what I run).

Track Day at Streets of Willow on April 18th. 3 MINI's are signed up so far including myself. There are a few porsche's as well, including a GT3 Cup car that should provide some interesting fun .

Not sure where in the "West" you are, but Streets is just about 75 miles north of LA, past Palmdale on the 14.

Nick,

I would love to be able to make that, but while I am that far west, I am to far north, think Seattle. The other problem I have had thus far is anytime there is a track day, I am on the road for work. Wonder if I can be down there for work on the 18th?
