Have any of you who have modded your MC with the "S" hood made the scoop functional? If so, can you tell me what's necessary?

Ummm....Eventually (when I find a job)...Im going FMIC to aide in my future turbo cooling. So, I guess the scoop is just bling. I would have purchased a MC hood in CF instead of the MCS one...but they dont make one.

the non-scooped hood is a sweet sleeper mod for a FMIC Subaru. Paint the core black, get the normal non-turbo badging to boot.... muhahaha

I guess you could go Whole Hog and move the battery box to the "S" location. Install a aftermarket "S" cold air Intake, fabricate brackets and mount an intercooler. You know with all the money, I have spent on JCW stuff for a R50. I could have bought an "S" myself. My little guy is back at a service center (7th time). Because of problem with the Digital Power Sound Module.

That's way too much work and expense. I guess I'll just keep it as a aesthetic mod.

Hey FPM, good news for you, I have the S bonnet and will be working on a system to split 1/2 the in coming air over to my then boxed in K&N. Once I have it ready and the vendor helping me is ready to bring it to market you will be one of the 1st to see it. It our winter project.

Hey ChicagoMini -

I'll be interested in the results of your ongoing mod as well.

I also have the "S" bonnet on my '05 MC. Right now, it is just open to the engine compartment. A feed to a CAI would be really cool.
