Help! MINI Cooper radio turns itself ON! anyone experience this?

Hey guys,

We have an 02 Mini Cooper, and lately, the past few times I've walked to the car the radio will be on with no one in it and the doors locked.

This happened a year or so ago, and I kind of gave the radio **** a healthy "wiggle" almost to the point of probably breaking it and I never had the problem again.

Any help?

I know aftermarket radios are pretty cheap, but I'd rather keep the stock radio in there, and I'm sure Mini Parts will rape me for a new stock, single disc player.

Thanks alot.

creepy

Sorry I can't help you, except to suggest maybe looking for a used stock radio to replace yours. It would save you the cost of a brand new one from MINI parts.

Lots of folks have gone aftermarket, so there is a number of stock systems out there, buried in boxes. Perhaps you can lay your hands on one.

Good luck.

Both incidents happened around Halloween. Ghosts ghouls things that go bump in the night, need I say more?

If your MINI tunes into a rock station, it's good with me. ;-)

Ask your dealer about a refurbished radio/CD player.

Your Mini a transfromer that lost his ability to speak due to battle and it's trying to communicate to you. I hope it's one of the good guys

I just purchased a 2013 Mini Coupe, and my radio and lights turn themselves on. The car spent 6 days at the dealership service, and they did absolutely nothing. I'm so disappointed. Feel like a bought a lemon, and no one has a clue why this is happening or how to fix it. Any suggestions?
