Safe Driving

we'll be in Chicago this weekend. check it out. even if you dont attend come see us in action. My MINI will be staying home. it's a bit to far to take it. I'm taking a work car there. looks like it's about 800 miles away.

we'll be set up at the Chicago-land drag strip. Can any locals tell me where to get good Chicago pizza close to there. Thanks for the info.

here's the website.

Looks like fun, but alas cannot make it. I was just down there last weekend for an autocross, and theres no good pizza places down there. Best bet is to head up to the downtown chicago area...which is about an hour away.

we were hoping for a cool little family owned place that serves great pie. Here in the south we consider good pie paper thin. I want to find out what's up with the Chicago style.

An hour is to far for us i think. nothing in Juliet?

Follow this link to great deep dish, yes it's a drive, more than Joliet less than Chicago and well worth it. http://www.loumalnatis.com/locations...edowntown.html

ah, i thought you were asking me about an auto-X. I've never done a real one. I'm a road course guy. We do have a pseudo-auto-x coming up at the BMW performance center in Greer, SC but... it's a 1.5 mile course and i can hit the mid 80's on it. out of all the past 3 we've had there (BMW and MINI only)i've come in 3rd and 4th. The last one i had to share an E30 M3 with a buddy since my MINI was in the shop.

It was an SCCA chicago event. I like autocrossing, but i also love road courses. I have driven on Blackhawk Farms, and it was a blast. I would keep doing it if only i had a dedicated track car and if i had more money.
