As of right now I'm saying the Toys for Tots Run will be on the 8th of December. The 1st is out for me. And I'm booked every Saturday in November already. Plans are still being made but I do know this. Every year we meet somewhere in Cullman Alabama which is a half way point for both the Rocket City Mini's and the Birmingham Minis.
We go for a ride and then we go eat. Then the best part we take up Toys for the Toys for Tots.

I'm in. Are we gonna go eat steaks at that same place we did last year? I liked the man that owned the restaurant. He seemed so glad we were there too

Have any of you Northern folks eaten at All Steak Restaurant in Cullman? It's gotten some great reviews on Yahoo local

 

YES! The orange rolls are legendary. Gets my vote!

 

The Hitching Post Didn't close like I thought. They moved. They are now on the water. When you eat there you have the view of Smith Lake in the back ground.

The All Steak was a idea that come up the first year we did this. The problem is that you have to take out a loan to eat there. And they charge for their Meeting rooms.

 

All Steak's menu has burgers & sandwiches in the $7-$10 price range, steaks are $17 - $25 (except one 22oz ribeye is $30), & seafood dinners $13 - $19 which is pretty reasonable now a days We normally arrive to eat around 4PM when we do this ride so surely they could accomodate us that early in the dining room but it doesn't matter to me I will go where ever.

 

This made me laugh...

Is this about the food or toys?

We Southerners are do love our good food!

We plan to come, hopefully

 

updates: Well there isn't anything new. I have taken the week off before the run I will be working on the run. So I would say by wednesday before the run I will know where we can eat and where the run will take us.

I may know before then but that is my goal.

I'm still working on the details but don't forget the Toy's for Tots run is on December 8th.

I'm searching for new roads and maybe a new place to eat so that is why the delay plus I just haven't had the time.

 

I now know where we will eat!! We are going back to the place it all started. The very first Toys for Tots run we ate at the Angler Seafood place. They also have other things like steaks and etc. But since time is so short and they were so great to help me out we are going there this year.

Now I need a head count. Please let me know if you are going by the 6th of December so I can give them a head count. Thanks.

I know we do this kinda as a end of the year Bama and Rockety City Mini get together but we also do it for the kids.

 

I think the count is up to 12 people!! And 7 Mini's I think. If you have already posted on here that you are thinking about coming I added you to the list. We just need a ballpark number anyway.

ok I got 14 now. I'm keeping count from both fourms. The Alabama Mini online fourm and this one. This is not counting SB +1 on this site.

 

Please add me and my husband and one beautiful Mini! One new unwrapped gift, right? Just need time and directions to Angler's from B'ham! Looking forward to it!

 

So now we are up tp 16 people and 8 Mini's but I think I have miss counted the Mini's.
That is right. Bring one upwrapped Toy or two if you want. The B.A.M.A Mini group will meet some where in B'ham and drive up to meet the Rocket City group for a curvy ride over to the Angler. I will know the details on where the two groups will meet in cullman latter today. I would say be 8pm tonight I will know all the details.

 

Here are all the Details!!! WE will meet at 2:00pm in Cullman at exit 299 at the new Truck stop . Coming from Birmingham you will turn left and go across the bridge . And the Truck stop is on the right. Coming from Huntsville you will turn right at the exit and the Truck stop is on the right.
The run is around a hour to hour and half run so we will leave around 2:30pm to start the run.

For those leaving Birmingham we will meet at the Hobby Lobby Parking lot which is just off the Fieldstown Rd exit for I-65 N. We will meet there at 12:45 and leave to go to Cullman (exit 299) at 1:15. If you see that you are running a few minutes late, you can call me at 205-541-1773 and we will try to coordinate our departure with your arrival. You can also pm or email me if you think you will be going so we will know how many to expect at the Saturday Meetup before we depart.
