??? about R56 wheels on 05 MCc

Is there nothing out there that would allow an R56 set of wheels (14mm bolt holes) work with the 12mm bolts on my 05 MCc? I can't imagine there's not some sort of insert.

I really want to put my 16" Bridge Spokes take-offs on my 05 MCc I assume that there would be some movement on the R56 wheels if I used the 12mm bolts.

also, what is it that is unsafe about taking R56 wheels and putting them on an older mini? Aren't the bolt holes the same size?

R56 wheels on 05 MCc

To my knowledge R56 wheels with 14 mm holes will work on all R50 and R53 Minis with 12 mm studs or bolts.

Perhaps Alex at the Tire Rack or a Mini service tech can verify that for you. The service techs that I have talked to see no problem with this fitments.

I believe there are conversion kits, Texas Speed Works, to go from 12 mm bolts to 14 mm studs if your concerned.

The wheels are hub centric, to align, and the bolt holes are dished, for compression, and the wheel is held in place by the hub and the dished part of the studs or bolts not the thickness of the studs or bolts.

Bolt them on........enjoy the drive!

Hope this helps...

Yep - you're fine. All of the MINI factory wheels have ~16mm bolt holes, so they'll work with either the old 12mm lugbolts or the new 14mm bolts.

Some people (like me) have used 14mm-12mm conversion studs in order to fit *aftermarket* wheels that don't have bolt holes big enough for the new 14mm lug bolts, but if you're wanting to use factory wheels from a newer MINI on your '05, they'll all work.

put the bridge spokes from my 07 MCS on my 05 MCc last night. they look great and after a good 20 minute test drive on highways and off, they seem to be working just fine!
