oil service prices????

Hi all,
I am just curious as to what you guys are paying to maintain your Mini. I know the dealership covers the first few services, but what are you paying after that expires? I spoke with a service advisor at Princeton Mini and they wanted $306.00 to change the oil and filter. To me that seems a lot excessive. On the flip side, I called a local lube shop/car wash and they wanted $35.00 I guess they don't understand the need for synthetic oil.
Anyway, where do y'all go and what is an expected price?
Dave

I just had my oil changed at Princeton for $105. They apparently have different 'levels' of oil change. This was my first change done before the first recommended sevice as I didnt want to wait 15000 miles. Although I will say that ever since that change the computer has been dropping the mileage suggested for next change. It went from a high of 17000 and now is down to 13000. Don't know if that has any meaning at all though.

I pay $60 at Jiffy Lube. Is that wrong? I went to the dealer once, paid almost $100. I don't really know why it cost that much more.

I haven't had my first oil change yet -- car's at 6000ish and the numbers on my car are telling me 4000ish to go before the first. Why's mine suggesting at 10k and yours 15k? Or do i just not know how to read my car's digital readout (entirely possible)?

First oil change is 10k, second is dictated by the computer. The car has some type of sensor to monitor the oil condition. So depending on your driving conditions, it could be sooner or later than 15k. My second was 18k.

BMW has had this built into their cars for many years. They have lot's of data to prove the long oil intervals as long as you are using synthetic oil.
