Just want to say hi! I ordered a mini in September and hope it will be here by early November! I ordered the sunroof, but I am hearing that they can make the car pretty hot. For those of you with them, did you tint? If so, what type and who did you use? I know Bham summers are downright miserable, so I appreciate the input!

 

There has been some discussion in the past whether it is wise to tint a sunroof. The thinking was that the tint absorbs the sun's heat and stresses the glass to the point of shattering. Before you tint you should check with your MINI service adviser about warranty coverage in the event you tint and the glass shatters. I have a sunroof in mine and as long as I use the mesh blind under it I've had no heat problems to warrant going to the trouble and risk of tinting. Others have used reflective/foil blinds like used for windscreens. They can be popped in and out easily. My advice: don't tint.
