Mine has been at the VDC for over 3 weeks now - dealership says they can not release the car without an EPA certification ? I know 2008's are in the states....does this make sense to anyone here? Is the EPA cert a per car thing ?

2005 MINIs Delayed at the VPC?

Sections: Uncategorized Jul 27th, 2004 </B></B>

It would seem that the first batch of 2005 MINIs (including convertibles) is sitting in New Jersey at the vehicle distribution center with no immediate time table on being shipped (as of this weekend). We were going to report on this last week but it seems so hard to get confirmation on it all that we run the risk of just creating more rumors. In fact there has been discussion on this topic for days now on the MINI2 forums. (Update) It appears that the delay at the ports is common practice for EPA certification of new model year cars. There was a similar issue this time last year in fact. Many of the cars have a shipping date of 9/01/04 but they should be released much sooner than that. This info just came in from someone at MINIUSA familiar with the issue.
BTW for those that would like to take a closer look at what actaully goes on at the VPC you may be interested in this first hand report.

I just picked up my MCSc JCW yesterday (Sunday), but this probably won't help as I am in Edmonton, Alberta (Canada).

I have been lurking since the middle of July, as you can see this is only my third post.

Why did they lower the HP on the Turbo JCW? Does anyone know the rationale?

ACK ! first a lurker and now a highjacker !! LOL

I dunno about reducing the HP on the JCW, but I do know that 2008 JCW is faster than the previous version.....also the GP. Not that I know what the GP is -- just what I read on Motoring file.

If no one has a 2008 JCW yet, do you know of anyone who has...yes, in the States.

Don't confuse apples and oranges -- 08 JCW (hardtop/turbo) will be faster than previous MINIs including the GP and previous supercharged JCWs . . . but an 08 JCW (cabrio/supercharged) will not

It has to be a 2007MY R56 MCS with the dealer fitted JCW Stage 1 Kit.
