O.K. Its official we now have 5 people committed to going to Lost Wages aka Las Vegas. Carol, her dad, Mac & better half and Luke. We are thing about driving out and taking car train back if possible. Any one up for a little fun, o.k. alot of fun?

 

Any chance on a train out and back??? Then maybe I could fly out and meet you all????

 

I am working on some details this week Doc. .but you could definitely fly out and meet us!!! Want me to hunt down some tickets to get a price range? I am thinking about becoming the club's travel agent..

If this is something you are thinking about doing. David would like to fly out with you. Which would be awesome! $347.00 is a good price. If David gets selected for E7, then either way he won't be able to attend because he will be in a leadership class. But it is definitely something to think about.

 

Luke, I called Amtrak, and they don't have an auto train that goes out west. It is only on the east coast.. so looks like we would drive the whole way. Which isnt so bad..

So I am thinking we need to leave on the 22nd which will leave us one extra day for anything that might come up. Taking 4 days to get there 546 miles a day... or the full 5 days and we can average about 436 miles a day.. which would be fine.. depending on how we feel we can go further each day..
First day stop in memphis/arkansas.. Second day somewhere in oklahoma
Third day:past albequereue 4th day: Arizona and the 5th day.. the 27th arrive in Vegas! So if that time line works.. doing the 436 miles a day.. In January, I can research it, and get our hotel reservations made along the way. We can either stay in the same ones or find something different for on the way home. Something to think about and let me know. I have not driven out west, so it would be kinda cool to take our time, see a few things on the way out, and enjoy!

Forget shipping your MINI to Vegas? Since such a long trip, I thought I ask about rail cost; mistake!! Cost runs from $1050 to $1300 one way from Columbia to Vegas. Looks like the drive is on! Sheroyn and I may be going out a week early; we love Vegas so I requested a condo with RCI for that week. We would have to come to the Palace Station each of the three mornings to join the crowd. We'll see how things firm up. Has anyone else committed to AMVIV?

 

WOW!!! I just checked the '08 calendar and notice the week of AMVIV is Easter week; thus, spring break for half the college kids in America!! Wonder if anyone thought about this in picking the MINI rally timing? The Vegas Chamber says it will be packed that week. Does this change anybodys mind??

Computor is fixed!!! I am officially back have little over 2000 emails to answer. I am in and will leave when ever you want. I just need a non smoking room with pleanty of booze and women! 2 out of 3 aint to bad. I am in and even if we drive there and back may scoot up to Denver and visit my buddy Mark before returning just depending on his work schedule.

 

Caravan to Christmas party: Sure; I think TILLEY and Union Jackie are becoming close (I better keep her top up around him). Starts at 5 pm (by executive decision!!) so we better head out around 3 (from my side of town; say Denny's); or, if you lead, we can leave at 4:30!!!!

Hey now Jackee is a good little car, and will behave How bout we meet at that Denny's around 2-230.. and then have a cuppa... and zoom up to the party!

 

Charlotte area people meet between 2:30 3:00 and will be leaving promply at 3:00. Weigh station I-85 and if it is open, go to next exit across river (Belmont) and turn right and wait at service station. We will be picking up Bob &Trace at exit 96 in SC ABOUT 3:30. BRING RADIOS CHANNEL 7 sub 21

 

AMVIV is the weekend after Easter, but still is during Spring Break for many students.
