Want to lower the driver's seat farther than stock - any kits available

I've seen several posts where people complain about lack of headroom, especially on track days, but no solutions short of a racing seat. Anyone seen any kits to lower the seat, possibly by removing the adjustor mechanism and permanently mounting it. Such kits are available for some other headroom-challenged cars, but I have yet to see one for the Mini.

And yes, my seat adjustor is all the way down.

Do you know any friends who can weld? If you dont care about ever moving the seat again, just have them weld up somthing. dunno about whether your track club would like that though...

Exactly how tall are you? I'm 6'7" and I can wear a helmet and fit fine in my MCSC (with the top up); of course there may be a few wite makes on the cabrio's ridgid beam but I fit...

I'm 6'4", and I can manage to get positioned such that I can drive with a helmet, but it is tight. My car has a sunroof, which is part of the problem.

What year is your MINI? I have an 04 and am 6"1 and have no problems. I have noticed that the newer MINIs seats are higher than mine.

My MINI is an '06 MCS with leather and sport seats. I previously had an '03 MCS with cloth. The seat height seemed similar, but I did not directly compare them.
