Runflats no more! Thanks Alex!

I was lucky enough to pick up a 4 inch nail in one of my runflats the other day and the thought of spending more than $200 for one runflat was just not that entertaining. I figured it was a perfect time to swap out the runflats to regular tires, rang over to Alex at Tirerack to see what he suggested(website was not working and I was short on time). Alex sent me out a set of Pirelli PZero Nero M&S in 205/50/16 size to replace my OEM Goodyear Eagle Runflat 195/55/16. He suggested I would be very happy with the PZero's, and man was he correct. My MC is at least 30-35% smoother everywhere, the ride is so much nicer than before. All the "harshness" is gone, and the MC no longer has those head jarring rough driving moments. I was short on time and Alex made a great suggestion and got them to me the next day, apx $450 to my door, which really I think it very good. I have not done much spirited driving yet, but did run down to long beach yesterday and found the tires did well at freeway speeds and had not issues with mega tight offramps at speed. I like the slightly wider profile and think I could have even lowered the sidewall a bit more but guessing that would decrease the ride comfort. Overall with only 1 day of driving on them I am very happy, like a whole new MC, thanks Alex!

How much did you pay someone to remove the runflats, and install and balance the new ones? Was any damage done to your wheels in the process?

It came out to apx $90 for 4 tires mounted and balanced at my local 76 gas station(these guys are very cool for a mom and pop shop). There was no damage, but they did say its was difficult to mount the new tires and they seemed to really take there time to make sure it was done right. (no many people are detailed oriented these days). I did think $90 was a bit high, but hell it took them over an hour from start to finish. Guessing if they had a higher end mounting machine it would have gone quicker. Overall they did a great job.
