Do I need BMW Tool 11 8 370 to install a new cylinder head?
I'm putting a parts list together for a cylinder head replacement that I'm going to be doing in a few weeks.
I can see why BMW tool 11 8 250 is helpful/necessary. I was just wondering, does tool 11 8 370 do something that a jack below the engine can't do?
Thanks in advance for any insight/suggestions about that weird little, expensive, tool.

This is the part that bolts to the unibody and two of the upper passenger side engine mount bolt holes. It basically takes the place of the engine mount when you remove it to gain access to the deeper reaches of the engine.
It is shown on pages 113-2 & 113-34 in the Bentley manual.
Classic is selling this part for $135.00 It's basically some steel blocks that are welded together.

its is nice because you can raise and lower the car on the lift while working, but I usually just put a jack stand with a block of wood under the motor, and deal with not being able to adjust the height of the car.
