NAV/TOGGLE FROZEN! WHAT'S UP W/THAT??

This is my first post so bear w/me. I have a 2007 MCSa SS/Blk top, picked up on 9/19/07, taken back to the dealer on 9/25/07. I waited 2.5 months for my car but after 2 days the Nav screen froze, the toggle & Menu button not working. I can get several steps by the Voice Command only. The dealer replaced the toggle control, but I went to p/u the car today to find the screen is still frozen. Did they not test it before thinking it was fixed? It's still there while I drive an 06 loner. So now my car will have been in the shop longer then I've had it...(sorry for venting)
Anyone out there have a similar problem? What was done to repair?

(also posted on general board)

that sucks, but you should drive the hell out of the loaner, put 5000000000 miles on it by the time you return it

Mine froze once. Have you tried pulling the DVD and reinserting it? That fixed mine.

Yeah that will definitely fix the nav system...

Hi HB-
Sorry for your frustration. I just had a different issue with a new car. Anyway, here's a shot in the dark. The nav system is a computer, right? Since there isn't a ctrl/alt/del option, how about finding the fuse that powers the nav system (it's still powered even with the ignition off, BTW) and pulling it for a couple of minutes. When you reinstall it, the nav system should go through a the equivalent of a cold boot. I would eject the DVD BEFORE attempting this, in case the problem is with the DVD instead of the nav system. Good luck, and please let us know how things work out!

Yeah, this happened to me too while driving. So, I pulled over and turned off the car for a few minutes. When I restarted the car, the nav is in working condition again.

That's to easy...I'll be calling them tomorrow, we'll see what they think might work.

I've had mine freeze up on me three times since April and that method worked all three times. It required more than a momentary stop, but four or five minutes seemed to do the trick.

UPDATE - A Loose wire caused the freeze, that explains why the Voice Command continued to work and this problem started 2 days after my pick up. I guess those bumpy roads will do it every time!!!
