Do you or anyone you know know anything about these wheels? Is this brand any good?

I know they are as heavy as standard MINI wheels but they will be used as my daily wheels with ultra performance all-seasons. I will be buying separate track wheels and tires.

I would go to your nearest DiscountTire (America's Tire) store and take
a look at it in person.

Konig has been around for a long time. ive personally never owned one but
i know many people that are happy with them.

 

The weights that are posted on that site are on the high side. I will be running this wheel as well, probably the 15" version with 225-50 tires. I have found them on some Miata sites that have the actual weight as 12 lbs. for the 15" and 15 lbs for the 16". They claim these are actual "in-house" weights rather than Konig generic weights.
Also, check around on prices as those seem high. The best price I have found is thru www.jlbmotorsports.com . I got a price 2 weeks ago for $560 shipped for the 17". The 16" were $520. I can get the 15" for $330 cash by picking them up.

 

I'm no wheel expert but i can say two things
1) Konig has been around a while
2) Those wheels are BEAUTIFUL

 

Are you running these on an R56? If so, I guess they work with the 14mm bolts and the tire pressure sensors?

 

They will be on an R56 MC. It's a base model with 15" wheels to start, without pressure sensors. I've been told that even the 15" model will clear the brakes, but will NOT clear on an S.
As far as the 14mm studs go, I'll open the holes a bit if necessary. (I don't have the car yet, it's still on a boat on its way to CA )

Ok, so I think I'm gonna go for it. I'm getting the 17s. I'll also be getting Bridgestone Potenzas 215/45s for the tires.

As far as the bolts go, Konig sells slimline bolts that work on the MINI. You may not have to bore them out if you get the bolts.

I was looking at them as well, but decided to get a brand I knew I could trust since I couldnt see the wheels ahead of the time. I though those would look good on the mini and help hide some of the brake dust while still not being black wheels. I would be interested in seeing how they are.

 

My wheels are in. The Tires are in. The only thing I am waiting for is the set of tire pressure sensors to come from BMW. Konig said they'd work with the system but I'm still kinda nervous about the whole thing because no one seems to have any definitive info.

 

I picked up my car today and it has the new style tire pressure sensors! As of this month, all production will have them. I already bought the Britelites and had tires mounted and balanced. Can you say "do-over?"
The easiest thing to do, I guess, is take the tires off the stock rims, remove the sensors and remount the tires with a standard stem. These wheels will be sold, probably to someone who needs "winter wheels."
Now, with sensors in hand, I can go to the tire shop, have the Konigs taken apart, install the sensors and then mount and balance the wheels again. Easy, right?

BTW, prices from Thursday: $600 cash for 15" rims and tires mounted and balanced. I went with the 16" with a 215-50 for a total of $745 out the door. www.jlbmotorsports.com

 

Here's some pics of the Konig Britelites. I don't like the center cap, so I left it off. I'll be painting the centers black. These are 16's with 215/50 Falken tires. The ride is smooth! I only have (or already have) about 1200 miles right now, so I'm hoping that the car will settle another inch. It's come down a bit so far, but not enough.

 

Those look awesome! My set came in and the sensors went in just fine. Konig told me that they would work with the 14mm bolts. They didn't. My tire guys had to take the tires off and send the wheels back to Konig where they will drill out the holes to 14mm.

Did you have any issues like this?

 

Thanks! Everyone seems to pass over these wheels, but I really like 'em.
I just drilled out my holes with a 9/16" drill bit in my cordless drill. If you drill from the backside of the rim, there is no potential for messing up the front. It's really easy, as not much material is removed. It doesn't have to be loaded in a mill and done precisely, as others have stated. With the centering rings and the self-centering type lug nuts, everything is fine. Now I have to get some wheel locks.
I didn't put the sensors in because I didn't even have the car yet when the wheels were put together. I'll have them taken out of the stock wheels and put in next time I get tires, I guess. The dash warning light isn't bothering me.

I agree. I am looking at the Privat Netz (Elite wheels from Konig). Alta say that the 17x7 is about 17 lbs (actual). The Britelite must not be that too far. The Privat Netz looks good, you may want to put it on your shopping list at @ $149 each hubcentric included.

They have the TPM sensors with machined out to 14mm by Konig to fit the new bolts.
