SSK install help!

I'm installing the Alta ssk and I can't seem to get the plastic cover off of the shift assembly under the car... any suggestions?

Thanks!

Did you drop the entire exhaust down? I had a little fanagling but it was not too bad. If this helps I do not know. If not then describe it a little more in depth and maybe I can help.

I dropped the exhaust (leaving the cat.) Took off the heat shield, trying to pry off the shifter cover. pain in the ***! I'm about to cut the damn cover off since i plan on leaving the cover off anyway..

Help?

Anyone wanna give me a step by step on what they did?

It is a pain in the ***. I spent a ton of time prying off the tabs with stiff coathanger wire only to find that:
1) I cracked part of the case anyways,
2) the cover would have to stay off anyways.

So my advice: don't worry about it and just break the cover off -- you can't use it with an SSK in place anyways.

I had to break my off too.
No big deal, I didn't plan on putting it back on anyway.

I just got it off with my fingers. it was tight, but it only took about thirty seconds. As far as the cover goes, if you're like me, and still wanted something to cover it up, cut out a hole, then make a little piece out of a pie pan (sheet metal, or whatever), that drops down about another half inch or so, then just throw it on with some bolts. This way you can have the stick all the way down, and still have a cover on it.
