Are you also having problems with 07 S

I bought an 2007 Copper S, with automatic. I took delivery in April - it was one of the first automatics shipped in Florida. After 6 months of ownership the car has 1,800 miles. It spends more time at the dealer than at home!! I am one more "check engine" light away from a lemon law buy-back, so I have my fingers crossed. I have also had the check tramsmission light up and it was stuck in 2nd gear for "limp home" mode. All relating to the computer programming.

I took it to the dealer (Vista Motors in Ft Lauderdale) body shop for a VERY minor dent and to replace a weather strip. It is now going on one month! "We can't get any parts"

I offered to sell it back to Vista and was told by the used car manager that they where aware of the problems with the 07's and wasn't interested in buying my car at any price! The dealers won't buy their own product because of the problems?
Am I the only one with these problems?
Steve

Do not pass go...just give us the Dude's email address.

Steve

Do you have Fields in your area? I know there is one futhre north round W Palm. I just purchased a 07 MCSC recently (Orlando) and had a minor problem with water leak. Downtown Mini (Fields) quickly arranged for service, corrected the problem and gave me back a well detailed vehicle. I can't complain....now 2K mi.

Go to the Dealership President....Go Directly to the President.....Do Not Pass Go! You might also mention the power of this sight...right now you have access to thousands of Mini Owners who hate to see fellow Miniholics mistreated in any way....word travels fast. Give us the dude's email address and we will give you a little "digital" assistance!!

Good Luck...Keep us Posted

I doubt that. Anyone that comes in to trade in a car with ultra-low mileage is doing so because the car's got a problem.

My '07 MCS was produced in March, took delivery in April. Thus another of the first automatics to be manufactured. Currently have 2500 miles and no problems at all thus far. Sorry to hear about your issues. I'd also recommend talking directly to dealership president and writing letter to MINIUSA and ask for written reply with resolution so you have your problem documented. Good luck.

The service dept at my MINI dealership is pretty quick I usually get the car back the next day, once I had to wait 2 days for a part to come in, even so I've had it in service 5 times already and it's going back next Monday. It's all been small things or the service departments screw ups, like overfilling the oil.

I posted the list of problems before but here it goes again.

Sunroof rattling (fixed )
Auto lights stayed in auto mode no matter which position the stalk was in
Couldn't program daytime running lights, wipers and other options
Oil came up from where the spark plugs are (later I learned that the service people put a quart of oil too much during the oil change so that was probably the reason, however when I came it with the problem they changed the valve gasket without checking the oil level so I had to go again after I realized that there's too much oil)
Lower part of the chrome around the grill is coming off
Sunroof is rattling ( again)
Armrest is stuck, can't open it, it's totally empty so there's nothing jamming it from the inside.
And the service people used a squeegee to clean the windshield last time I was there and left very fine scratches in the glass. You can only see them when the sun is shining right at the windshield.
I don't really consider weeping a problem, that's something that's something that fixes it's self after a while, but I had that happen as well.

Is there another dealer in your area, I would be trying a new one.

I live on the border of Portland OR, and from what I understand it's the state's lemon law that you purchased from. Oregon's lemon law says the vehicle has to be in the shop for 30 days for the same prob or in 4 times for the same prob and you have to prove that the problem disables the vehicle......
