What aftermarket Accessories?

First, I'm blown away by this site and all the great information available about Mini's and their owners. It is truly a benefit of owning a Mini that most Motor Heads don't have at their disposal.

I'm a Newbe 07 MCSC owner. After viewing all the assortement of "stuff" that can be added to my Cab....I'm curious to know what your recommendations on what are the "must do's" that I should research and consider for my Mini....consider my budget unlimited.

Also if were talking power train stuff here are my characteristics:

This is PaPa's current Fun Car....
X-Muscle Car Owner
Not a racer...but love performance, handling, and show!
Love to blow the doors off of guys driving $110K SL's
Drive the car 2-3 days a week to work. (Top Down Days...of course!)

Do mods affect warranty?

Thanks in advance for your advice!

Must do: Learn to make your car's paint beautiful. Check out the Detailing 101 section of the forums. Washing your car will not affect the warranty.

I don't know much about the power mods, since my budget isn't very high, so I can't help you much there.

Legally, if you mod your car, you void your warranty for only the parts affected by the mod. Changing the pulley will void the warranty for most of the engine, but electrical warranties won't be affected. Some dealers have a more lenient view of this than others.

definitely check out the detailing forums.

but for mods. it's the typical pulley, intake, and exhaust.
those are just simple mods. but you can get a head. (that i dont know too much about)
gettin mods all depends on your budget.
i have a pretty low budget so i got intake and about to get a pulley. and im probably gonna do the one-ball mod for my exhaust.

exterior you can do simple tiny mods. if you like chrome. add chrome!
if not. cover it all like most do. you can buy a black out tape for the middle chrome that goes all the way around the car.
and you can wrap/paint the headlight rings, door handles, and gas cap.

a mod you should definitely do. I THINK..is the aero grills. or if you're a high baller. get the aero kit. and also the auto-up window module.

keep lookin on these forums and you'll keep gettin more and more mods. it's a contagious disease. careful.

1. Bentley Press Mini Cooper S Repair Manual. 2007 Cabs are the same as the 2006 (mostly), so the book should be good.
http://www.amazon.com/Mini-Cooper-Se...9029347&sr=1-1

2. M7 Strut Reinforcement plates or bar.
http://www.m7tuning.com/parts/produc...products_id=30
http://www.m7tuning.com/parts/produc...products_id=29

3. GoMiniGo Glove Box Tidy
http://www.gominigo.com/8401.html

4. M7 Underchassis brace. Cabs need stiffness!
http://www.m7tuning.com/parts/produc...products_id=28

5. Get rid of the run-flats and get something good and grippy. Hankook Ventus RS2 or Falken RT-615's. Then get a Slime/Air Compressor kit to chuck in the boot.

Hey Papa Bdog, Welcome to NAM!!
I'm sure you'll enjoy your stay here...

As a cabrio owner myself, here's what I would recommend:

Suspension - M7 USS (some fitment issues with certain exhaust, read up on it), sway bar 19mm

Power - Dinan Stage kits, (if you're worried about the warranty)

Esthetics - Aero kit or aftermarket body kit (I have the Orciari), aftermarket wheels

Enjoyment - Definitely a windscreen OEM or aftermarket (check out the cab. forum), window up module.

Ofcourse if budget is unlimited, then... but this short list will fill your need of a while...

Good luck!

In that case,
Aux input - plugs into back of radio, let's you use an ipod or MP3 player
(note that it can be installed without pulling the radio as shown)
Euro shelf - great place for glasses, ipod, auxillary power point

Use the search button. (j/k, links included)

Check out

www.dinancars.com for complete details of their stage kits.

Instead of me regurgitating info and getting some wrong...check out this thread. Lots and lots of info. View at your own risk!

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...ighlight=dinan

Dinan is the preferred tunner for BMW and Mini dealers. Most Mini dealers will even install and warrant Dinan products.

Hey, Papa, welcome to the show!
For performance, the biggest single bang for the buck is the pulley swap. After that, intake, head and integrated exhaust system. Don't forget to have your friendly neighborhood MINI tuner do an ECU tune to take best advantage of your mods.
For looks, getting the wheel arches and rockers painted body color is a killer look. Body kit optional.
If you are into bling, there are no shortage of places with chrome replacement parts. If more the stealth type, black-out everything you can access. On a Dark Silver, this would look great! Carbon fiber bits will also help this look.
Good luck, and keep us posted on your upgrades. Pics are always welcome!

It's an '07 Cabrio. No changes to the engine. Turbo cabrios won't come out until '09 model year.

Can't wait!!

Now my head hurts.....

Wait....yu's guys is confusing me. This (07) is a Turbocharged (not surpercharged) Engine....so do all the "heavy breathing" and exhaust mods still apply? Same computer mods?

I have one in an R56 and like it. Works well for groceries and other small items. It reminds me of a camera bag with the velcro on nylon strap adjustable dividers.

If you have a manual transmission, don't forget gear shift *****:

Doug Whalen makes some great stainless steel *****, and you can get a logo or graphic engraved in it. http://www.whalenshiftmachine.com/

He also makes billiard ball *****. I use his adaptors to make ***** from exotic hardwoods.
