How To: Install OutMotoring's stubby antenna

I know, it's an easy how to but I'm documenting every change I make. So why not share it with everyone else?

http://www.russellcory.com/blog/?page_id=19#Project3

Any feedback on the tutorial is always graciously accepted.

OK, I knew I would catch some flack for this one.

I know that there are a lot of people out there that are terrified to work on their own vehicle. Simple mods like the blackout tape and antenna bring a cold sweat and ragged breath to many people. My Mother-in-law being one. She's a surgeon that performs major operations on a daily basis. But she can't fill her tires with air without having a week long panic attack over exploding tires.

I want to show that these are simple and easy tasks to do and don't require much if any technical know how. Perhaps someone will gain the confidence that they were lacking and go for it. You have to learn to crawl before you can walk.

Second: I'm posting every change I make to the car so there is a record of not only the changes, but the methods. It seemed like a good excuse to practice writing, keep up on my HTML, and play with my new camera. Hopefully I'll help someone to.

For those of you that think I'm only playing around with n00b stuff… Notice the winter project I have planned at the bottom of the page - Full custom remote mount fire suppression system. It will be sweeeeeet when it's all done.

I have a couple of other quirks that I'm working on improving or repairing also.

After the car is safe, I'll chase more HP.

I'm stuck on step 2. All I keep coming up with is lint.

This thread is hilarious.

Russell: good job making an easily accessable tutorial. The over abundance of easy, DIY improvements will hurt my checkbook over the long run.

I made a thread

on how to add centering rings to aftermarket wheels while it's raining...And caught about as much flack as you over this one!

The experts can skip it, and if one person finds it helpfull, then vindication will be yours!

It's the small stuff that truly helps, isn't it?
