Holey's on an R56?

Will the Imola wheels fit an '07 MC, non S? I've been looking into wheels and some aftermarket appear to not fit the '07. I've read because the lugs changed from 12mm to 14mm, and also about a kit that changes a 14x1.25mm to 14x1.5mm. The later doesn't make sense as the thread pitch won't affect hole diameter.
So, If I go aftermarket, and the lug holes are for the 12mm, I should be able to open the holes to accomodate the new 14mm lugs, right? Is there another difference that would complicate things?

Thanks,
Robb

Older wheels are for 12mm studs or bolts and newer R56 take 14mm.
You can use a stud change kit for the R56 or you can rebore the holes larger on the older wheels (use a professional shop).

I believe the holes in OEM wheels are large enough to accommodate either size.

Yes, sorry. What was I thinking?
Stock OEM MINI wheels from R53 will fit R56 without trouble.
Older aftermarket wheels may not fit R56-
depends on 12 vs 14mm bolt or stud size and if it is R56 MCS with bigger front brake which doesn't clear all 15" wheels like it used to. R56 MC is OK with brake clearance so Holeys would be OK.

Gotta get more rest, only about 2 hours last night.

Yes the lug bolts will fit, but the R56 has larger brakes. Will the Holies fit over those brakes? I'm thinking the answer is no. Anyone know for sure?

The R56 MC brake discs are only 4mm larger in diameter than those on 1st Gen MINIs (280mm vs 276mm). The R56 MCS brake discs are 294mm in diameter, the same size as 1st Gen JCW brake discs.

Thanks for those spec's. The question for me is will they fit? I'm not smart enough to decipher that from the spec's. Do they or don't they??

I did a search about the JCW brakes for the R53 and holey's came up as 'no'. the rotor may only be 4mm bigger but it's the caliper that matters

I remember reading about the JCW brakes as well. Anyone know for sure, I have always liked them and really want to run 'em on my '07 standard MC.

I just read this again...it seems as though they will fit a standard MC, but not the S.

Thanks guys!

The JCW (R56 MCS) rotor is 18mm larger than the 1st Gen rotor, so the holey's definitely won't fit on a R56 MCS, but I think they'll fit on a R56 MC.

For R56 MC, yes Holeys will fit over the stock brake caliper.

For R56 MCS, No Holeys will not fit due to larger brake caliper (JCW sized).

I wonder if anything stops you from installing R53 stock calipers on an R56 MCS? You do loose a little brake performance but you do gain the flexibility of adding several good aftermarket brake pads.

Sorry none for sale.

It's probably the best light OEM rim for general purpose.

You can put on good snow tires, all season street tires, performance street tires, or track/autocross tires.

Obviously you don't get the full benefit in performance since the rims are only 5.5" wide (15x7" would be better) but they are cheap and come in silver or white and look very MINI.
