Bought one of these for $59 shipped, hardwired it (controller on the console, screen on the color line b/w secret compartment and glove box, and ipod cable in secret compartment).

It has a "hot" audio out that plugs right into the aux-in -- excellent sound quality without the volume drop many experience with other ipod systems. The screen is easy to see where I mounted it, controller is right between the e-brake and shifter (where I rest my hand when I drive).

I give it an A+ since there's no way in hell I was going for the OEM cable and mortgage reflash.

Get it, and hardwire it -- you'll have to drill into your interior to do it right, but it's well worth it.
