Well it finally happened today. We had some sun on a weekend. So I decided to see what happens when a cooper mates with a cooper S. Here are the results. Three people where needed to record data and do the work:

Is this also know as "inbreeding"...

Looks good, but I would like to see some before and after shots side by side if possible.

His, Chile RED all over, Madness intake, Randy's Airbox Mod, Magnaflow Exhaust, BMP spark plug wires, RDR rear sway bar and Helix P/D 15% reduction pulley.

Hers, EB UJ on top and BONE stock.

Nice.

Thanks.

I'm so amazed with the passion we have for this funny little car and the lengths we go to "make it our own".

Very cool Doug...I sort of did it also. BTW - how did you get the bottom grill painted EB? Body shop? What color did it start out in life? Really looks nice!

Now all you need to do is the Bonnett and it'll look really nice... Just kidding, looks like you did a great job. The MINI is a great car to personalize. Thanks for pictures.

all you need to do now is get rid of all the badges and swap the hood,

Thanks for all the compliments.

I had my friends body shop paint the bumpers. There were originally british racing green.

I like they way your car looks Dan.

The aftermarket wheels are for winter. They are Sport Edition Fox 5's with Bridgestone Blizzaks.

I will take more pics later.

Thanks Doug

BTW, how do you like the Blizzaks? I want to go that route for my winter setup...

Do you ever get any harassment for "trying to look like an S"? I really want to do that too, not too look like an S, but just because i prefer the styling.

Not as of yet (some people don't notice either)...in fact, it was an MCS owner that suggested it (Eric @ Helix in Philly) I had front end damage , and the bumper would need replacing. I was down at Helix for a brake upgrade and they knew a dealer that had spare parts from all the aero-kit installs. It was a lot cheaper than a body shop, was already Indi Blue. I liked the more aggressive look of it, so why not. Now if I were to put red "S" logos and change the hood - I would deserve any comments thrown at me

hey doug it looks great! i was pretty skeptical when you mentioned that you were going to do that but it looks nice. it turns out electric blue pulls off the chrome bumpers pretty well... more than some other colors!
did you keeep the original S bumpers? just incase?

I have to admit I was hessatant at first. I am very pleased with the way it looks. I love the way regular coopers look with 17" S Lites so I figured it would look good. It was not to costly of a mod either.

Dan,
The blizzaks are awesome in the snow. I highly recomend them

I think the bumper switch is clever and well done.
Problem with using the MC bonnet for the MCS is you loose the scoop for the intercooler unless you can move the intercooler to infront of the radiator
I've seen this done on one of the racing MCS.
I guess that is one way to make an MC with tons of power. Start with an MCS and do some body work-like reverse timming.

I love to see different ideas meeting the MINI design- the Cooper bumpers and grill on the S have to be one of a kind. I did something a bit different as well- I love the idea of a black grill, but didn't want to lose the chrome, so I had a body shop do the dirty work and fit the bottom aero grill piece for me. The top is a straight swap, but the bottom took a guy w/ a Dremel about an hour to fit!! Far as I know, no one else has done this:
