Suspension Tightning the rear shaft nut.
Tightning the rear shaft nut.
I installed a set of coils.. which may come out soon.. however, i have a quick question about rear shaft nut.
its a nut with nylon top on it and when i tried to tighten it down, it wouldn't go all the way down even with some impact actions. stuck at right at fully threaded poistion. i can't even use allen wrench cuz of koni adjustment thinge.. and i hear clunks and clanks right now, which i hihgly suspect that the not 100% threaded nuts are causing the issue..
any tips on how to ? frustrating..
thanks!

install washer shims?
SPRP85,
Can feel your pain. A possible solution: (if you can back the Nyloc nuts off) install a couple of 10mm flat washers on the strut shaft, under the Nyloc nut. Reinstall a new 10mm Nyloc nut and see if you and cinch the nut down tight against the washers. Have done exactly this with my rear struts when I fabricated some mono-ball bushings and needed to make a minor adjustment to the bushing depth. Works perfectly in my situation.
