Glenview whos MINI was that UNDER the Tree?

Hey Gang,

Fox News Chicago just showed a live report of a MINI at a Glenview School that was parked waiting for a student on Thur when the storm blew a BIG tree down on top of it. There was a woman and small child in the MINI.

Looks very bad, but they report that everyone is "recovering"

MINI totaled, but saved lives.

WOW! be careful out there today. More rain and wind today too.

Here's another: Barrington Metra parking lot

Thankfully mine was safe (and freshly detailed!) in the garage.

Hey guys!! I didn't see that... I think that was the school at Lake/Waukegan Rd??? I drove by today and saw many huge branches on the ground...

It took me over an hour to get home in Glenview on Thursday night (lost power for 24 hours and phone/cable/internet for 48 hours)

A little bit of water in the basement and had to throw away all the food in the fridge. other than that, all is well. crazy weather I'll tell you

We were without power for 3 days or so. It was rough i tell ya. My MINI was outside and exposed to the storm, but thankfully didnt get hit with anything other than rain.

Hope everyone was ok - but for those who have not had damage, you should come out to the local meet this Friday @ Superdawg - 7 P.M. - there should be lots of Euro cars too. It is from a local car forum (IllinoisEuro.com) and although I do not have a Mini yet, they key word in that sentence is YET.

R56 driving in flood water

I just saw that MINI again on FOX. Looked really bad! Hope everyone inside is recovering!

Related to the same storms last week - here is a video my wife found of an R56 driving through some deep water here in St. Charles. This is something I would not do in either our R53 or R56
