02 MC - A simple start

so i've had my cooper for 4 months, and i'm ready to begin modding.
after some quick research, i believe i will start with an Intake upgrade
price is somewhere around 170$, give or take.

so that's 7hp / 8fp torque

next is a catback, and magnaflow kinda peaked my interest (as they have video samples from a MC w/ thier exhaust). but the others look good aswell.

And that's 7hp / 10fp torque

perhaps a short shifter?

Then i'm stumped, so if anyone could :
A : fill me in on the next steps of modding
B : make suggestions for my (above) proposed mods.

Thanks guys

follow this post to mods on an R50....

https://www.northamericanmotoring.co...&postcount=183

that is what I have done, and there are others that have done many other things. That mad modder thread is a great place to start...suspension mods are the same between the cooper and S, as are the brakes....power and trans are different, shifter assembly is the same, but there are changes between the years of production.

I would work on suspension and handling...having a car that can turn in, stay in control, and make you feel connected to the road is my favorite part of modifications

good luck, and welcome to the collective.

cheers,
jon
