Nuvi 350 on a Kuda

I joined the ever-expanding list of rookie installers who have tackled the Kuda/Nuvi job.
Thanks to unixgal and Lacning74 for their trailblazing efforts.

Notes:
1) Taking apart the dash is pretty easy. Putting it back together in 100-degree late afternoon Atlanta heat is a definate step toward sainthood. Mein Gott!
2) The Nuvi can talk to you in British English with a British accent. Since my car is named Arthur, King of the Britons, it's very appropriate that it use words like "motorway" and "roundabout". Neat.
3) Either I'm stupid or the Nuvi doesn't show your speed.
4) The Nuvi doesn't like twisty backroads and b!tches at me when I venture off it's selected path.
5) The Kuda location for the gps top-left of the dinnerplate speedo is very good. Easy to reference without taking both eyes off the road.

Other note:
The installer who put my driving lights on last week tweaked the clips that hold the panel under the steering wheel (the big one) and it won't clip back up after I put the cable in. It had opened twice on it's own during the past 5 days and now resides in the boot. I hope they will cheerfully assume responsiblility and repair the item...

It shows speed on the main display when it's NOT navigating (just displaying the moving map while you drive).

You can access the "instrument panel" view with speed by tapping the number in the lower left corner IIRC while navigating... but no, doesn't show speed on the main screen while navigating. And yes, it'll drive you crazy with the "recalculating" message if you stray from the "approved" route - so I only use it to nav when I plan to take its advice.

What I DO do - when I'm on the road and want to take some backroads - I'll figure out in advance all the little townlets I'm going to go through. Then I use each of those as the destination in succession.... of course this won't tell you what time you're going to be home...

So I am stupid; just not hopelessly stupid...
Thanks. I'll play with it some more. Maybe even read the manual.

Ooooooo. Now I figured out the speed and time functions. I'm getting smarter by the minute; thanks.
