Chicago MINI Motoring Club BBQ 9/16
Chicago MINI Motoring Club BBQ 9/16
I would like to invite our neighbors to the north to join us for our end of the summer drive and BBQ. I know it is a long drive but the BBQ starts later than the drive as you will have your own little drive
The details are:
September will be a chance to take a drive in the west burbs, and enjoy a BBQ and socializing time with some MINI friends!!
When: Sunday September 16th, Rain or Shine. Meet at 9:30, depart at 10:00 for a drive around some twisty back roads.
Where: Start is in the Jewel Parking lot, 107 East Galena Boulevard in Sugar Grove. Finish is at Club member Blake’s place in the town of Bristol, Il
If that is not enough, Way Motor Works is interested in coming out for a mod party if there are enough people who need work. There will be a full garage with a lift for all your Mod needs.

Thanks for reading.

We tired working with Knauz but they would not set a date for us to work with and around before we wanted to have our events planned.
One of the goals is to have events with dates 3-6 months out. That way people can plan the events into their lives. The risk we run is having some events with the same dates.
The Knauz event in the past was by invite only and often limited to Knauzs customers, we are cool with that. We just have two other dealers with owners to serve too.
CMMC BBQ or Knauz event, have fun and motor safe.

Worked on the final drive route today with the help of Dustin and it is going to be cool. Well, as cool as a route can be in a flat part of a flat state.
One cool thing, here in the country they built all kinds of sweeping 90˚ turns where the speed limit stays at 50-55! There are some that are back to back s curves, VERY fun. Can’t wait!

I have to say that I had a blast. Kudos to Dustin and Blake for putting this together.
I'm just glad I stuck with the "B" group as I'm sure I would have gotten lost myself, even with the GPS.
I had a little adventure on the way home. On 47 North (damn I should have listened to Anthony), I got stuck behind a trailer-camper which didn't clear an overpass and some debris came flying at me
. Fortunately for my cat-like reflexes and the handling of a MINI, all was OK. The driver never noticed that anything happened and was driving like a total goof. I was glad to be rid of him (or her).
