MINI Owners - males and females 18-39 in Chicagoland area
First, thanks so much for your time.
My name is Peggy Weller and I work for Focuscope, (www.focuscope.com), we are a market research company with offices in Chicago and Oak Park. We have been in business since 1980.
We are currently working on a project for Mini-owners in the Chicago area. We are looking for men and women between 18-39 for a project the week of September 5th. The project would take place in Chicago in the evening and qualified individuals would receive $200 for their time.
A little about us and this project-there are never any sales involved, we are only looking for your thoughts and opinions. Our client is looking to put together a group discussion with about 10 people. The project would last 4 hours and a light dinner would be included as well. No time during this discussion would anything be sold to you, we are only looking for your opinions.
For this project, our client is asking for proof of ownership of the car. This is to be sure the car belongs to the individual. All information will remain strictly confidential from this discussion.
If you are interested, please feel free to call our offices at 1-708-386-5086 and ask for project 07-443 or please feel free to e-mail me directly at pweller@focuscope.com with any questions or concerns.
I thank you for your time.

Well, they called, but one of the screening questions they ask you is;
"Are you a member of a MINI Club or other Sports Car Club?"
Guess what, if you, then you are OUT!
Why would they post here? How many of us are NOT a member, paying or not, of a MINI Club. Thats part of what NAM is.

Please accept my apologizes for the original post, our client made a change the the project late yesterday. I am truly sorry to have taken the time of the group for this posting.
Please e-mail me with any questions and once again, I am sorry for the posting.

Hey Peggy,
If the client thinks that "club members" have nothing neg to say about MINI's or MINI ownership, they are mistaken. While we love our MINI's, just like kids, we don't always like them or their friends.

My guess is that car club types would be more enthusiastic and more knowledgable about the MINI than the average person. This could potentially lead to a biased sample.
Of course the "client" in question may not be related to MINI at all, and is trying to see if their target audience (young and small car loving people) would be open to alternative small vehicular transportation (Scions, Smart Cars, etc.) . Enthusiasts (car-clubbers) might not not be so open and thus the exclusion.
