OK . . . so we're about a month out from this event now - time to start talking it up! Who's already signed up or at least thinking about it? We had a great group of MINI's last year and am looking forward again to next month. I assume the Colony Inn in Camden will be the "HQ" again?

I'm in for two days, but if I can get my brake pads I'm bringing the Elise. I'll be at the Colony.
I'm glad to see you are going to make it.
It is sounding like at least 10+ from the Atlanta area, a with several of those for both days. Dinner at Gus's on Saturday night.

Should I take my Hoosier R6s?
One of the regulars on this board, and an AtlantaMINI member, gave me a set! They've had some usage, but I'd bet 75% of their life is ahead of them.
I ran the last event on my Bridgestone RE-01R street tires, and it was a blast.
The reason I even ask is that I'm wondering if the R compounds won't up the ante on braking (would I have to have better pads than my Ferrodo 2500s and would I need better rotors than my Power Slots?).
I already went through pads between Road Atlanta and Barber, running on street tires. Would new Ferrodos hold up with braking on R compounds over two days?
How is CMP on tire wear?
I could just keep these until next season, but I don't have a great place to store R compounds over the winter (proven over the last three auto-x seasons)...

The tyre fairy visited you, eh?
CMP is a bit abrasive but not as bad as the old TGP you are familiar with. I've not run R compounds there but I did run out of brakes on stock pads with Azenis. bluzeke was along for the ride.
Super Dave generally runs slotted rotors with mid-grade Hawks on his arrive and drive tires but we both take an extra set of pads.

OK if I identify the "tyre fairy"?
Oh noooo. I believe in the tyre fairy. I do, I do.
Please don't try to tell me it's my mom and dad.
I just want to know how to get the tyre fairy to make a visit to my house.
Put my old worn out tyres under my pillow?

CMP is very hard on brakes and tires. It's a good place to use up the last little bits of old brakes and tires since it's so abusive to them. I usually have to bleed my brakes once a day there. I'm very hard on them. Looking forward to seeing you all there.
queen B, did you get pads yet? Carbotech usually has MINI pads all the time. They are only about 45 miles from Charlotte.

So you're bringing the Lotus?
What was out of this world was the price on pads from the dealership.
$300 an axle.
I knew better. I don't know why I even called them. And yes, as long as I get brakes in time I'll bring the Mad Apple.

the Executive inn in Kershaw is closer to the track than Camden. Last time i stayed there I think it was 47 bucks plus tax. not to bad. I think i'll just be there Saturday. Charlotte is only about 1:15 away but that extra sleep is nice after a long day at the track.
Brake pads came in yesterday so Casper stays home, as long as I can get my mechanic to get the brake job done.
I'm really looking forward to it folks. Track has been in short supply for me this year.
I'm even looking forward to a return to Nashville in November.

20 drivers from AtlantaMINIs.
Of those, three are from Tennessee, and one is from Meridian, MS.
One is from Indianapolis. We count Way, because he's an AtlantaMINIS member. So, 16 from the Atlanta area.
