White turn signal option?

I'm ordering the beast on Sunday and am waffling between getting the whopping $100 option of white turn signals or not.

Does anybody have any ideas or thoughts on this to push me in one direction or another?

Thanks.

I skipped it. I think it might be a nice touch for certain color combos, but when I saw it at the dealership, I said 'is that all it is?', and didn't think it would do anything for my mellow yellow & black.

It changes the yellow lens on the front and back turn signals to white, and if you have an MC I believe the side turn signal. I figured it's worth it as I like plain white lights and it's not something easily done later. I will be using chromium lights though, which look white when unlit, but lights up yellow. 100 is cheap and if you like white lights then it's for sure worth it.

I ordered it with LB/W. Granted, I also have white rims and bonnet stripes. I dunno.

They will look very similar to the standard amber turn lenses, until you change the bulbs to chromed variety. Then the turn lenses will look white/clear. I think the white looks good for some colors but not for others.

I wish I'd got them on my dark silver car. It didn't seem worth $100 when I ordered, but I would definitely prefer to not have those yellow lights. I'd already added more features to the ordered than I had intended so I just couldn't swallow more money for something so small and cosmetic.

Looking back on all the related posts in the past, there are a bunch of owners who wish they would have spent the $100 on this addition. The "fried egg" look is very obvious against some body colors. The white lights addition still comes with a much less obvious orange lamp, which can be changed to a silver one.

Dang, I sleep for 6 hours and you guys have posted like maniacs! Love it!

The "fried egg" comment got me...I'm ordering them. There's no way I could ever walk behind the MCS and look at the fried egg without thinking of this.

Actually the "fried egg" term got its name from the front headlights.

I've ordered them for my MCS. I figured it would be a good look with the whole black & white theme I've got going - AB/AB, white sport (shelby) stripes, black jack sunroof graphic, chrome in & out. What color(s) have you selected for your MINI?

Chili Red w/ Black roof and the corresponding bonnet stripes. Stock checkered cloth interior w/ the stock checkered interior trim (no chrome).

I just had eggs for breakfast...now all I'm thinking about is eggs and white turn signals.

Really, none of the options for the MINI are all that cheap (boy do they add up quick!), but this is just another one of those "eh, they look nice, I might as well get them if I want..." type options

They are subtle...

I like the white turnies... They are subtle. It's likely the casual looker would not notice them. But you might... The thing about Mini's, and especially about ordering is you get to customize. No, $100 isn't worth the actual item, but remember mini is allowing you to super-customize, it costs them something to run their factory in custom-mode rather than "cookie cutter" mode. So they charge you... Anyways, to each their own... You decide if you like them or not! You get to decide if the 'extra touches' are worth it to YOU...

Best $100 I spent on my car. No way you would be able to replace all 6 lights aftermarket for $100, so it was worth every penny in my book. I love my white/clear lights!

+1. They're a must have unless you specifically like orange.

I'd spend $100.00 to get the chrome side vents that comes with the aero kit. That chunk of black plastic is the only thing that, for me, detracts from the look of the R56.

Then I'd put white lights on the side. I'm probably in the minority, but I kind of dig the fried egg in the front.

To me they don't seem like they are worth $100. I'd spend that money on a couple of tanks of gas & go motoring about.

I opted not to get them on my MCS, mainly because I am waiting for smoked ones to come out. I'm not a clear lens or chrome fan.

GET THEM. I didnt think much of them either but with certain colors (Chili Red) the yellow egg yolks stand out. Trust me, I have been looking for a solution aftermarket, and they all cost WAY more than $100.

Hey, I have an idea. Order them. If you dont like them so much WE CAN SWAP! You can have my yolks and I'll take your egg whites!!!

I think he means that he wants this thing in all chrome while some are paying $$ to cover the chrome:
