My friend owns a Classic mini cooper. It's titled as a 1966 mini but it's clearly a much later car. It has an airbag and the door hinges are internal. The vin is B3871 • 335240

Wow - sounds like it's a bit of everything. Airbag would indicate the very latest Mini, say 97-2000. Internal hinges for the doors were introduced with the MK3 car, which I believe was mid to late 1970, but i'd have to check the date to be 100% certain.

Check the date on the wiper motor and the boot latch. Both should be stamped with dates. Often times the VIN will be changed but the rest of the car remains the original year.
