Maybe I'm in the minority here (or maybe this is the way it is out here in LA), but I'm of the belief that if you custom order, you essentially guarantee that you'll pay MSRP and no lower. I bought mine off the lot at South Bay Mini and was able to get it for a couple grand off list because the car apparently had been sitting there for a bit.

Two other relatives of mine bought their Minis at South Bay - one ordered and one bought off the lot. The one who ordered is the only one of the three of us who paid full list. Again, that's just my experience...

Yup - mine were free. Mighty big of them...

Seriously, I think they are the best in LA. Better than LB Mini, as you probably discovered. Good luck!

BTW - I dealt with the internet manager - Donnabelle Esposo. My relatives dealt with Amanda.

We paid MSRP for both plus some dealer installed options.

The only time I've heard of someone getting lower than MSRP was when the dealer was trying to move the 2006's off the lot to make way for the 2007's. That maybe true for every year, but I doubt you will get that deal if you custom order. Good luck! My husband also got a free hat along with floor mats!

I custom ordered my 2006 S in March 2006 and paid less than MSRP.

If it's a car on the lot... you might have a chance of getting somthing knocked off. The more accessories the car has, the more of a chance you might have. It's worth a shot.

A couple people have suggested that there are so many R56's on lots and sales are so low that they are blowing these things out. Thousands off MSRP. Where I'm at, that's not the case... and it's pretty much contrary to all official sales figures that have been released, but hey... it's all about perspective.

Best I've heard of on the boards is a couple customers buying very well equipped, high spec cars ($30K+) getting free installation on accessoiries, floormats thrown in or some other accessoryworked into the deal for free. Actually the very best I remember hearing was an iPod adaptor thrown in and installed (about a $700 savings).

Worth a shot. The worst they could say is "no", right?

I agree! very true!

Do you have multiple dealerships near you, so that you may use one against the other by telling them the other offered some off MSRP? again, . . . all they can say is "no"

Good luck!

Yeah, this rarely happens though, mine was ordered and has a bunch of options, still rolled out of Long Beach MINI at around 40k!

I custom ordered my car and recieved a discount on the price of the car. And it wasn't overloaded....MSRP on the vehicle was about 27,000.
