Navigation & Audio problems with Apple iPod kit
problems with Apple iPod kit
I installed the i-pod interface about 6 months ago and everything was working fine untill yesterday when i disconnected my ipod to upload some new songs. It would say mini on it and now it doesn't say anything i pulled the radio apart and noticed one of the wires was disconnected i reconnected it and its still not wodking what can it be can you help thanks
Lots of times this can fixed with a simple battery reinitialization.
1. Remove battery cables, negative first
2. Touch battery cable terminals together (away from battery) for +5 seconds, a small spark is normal as this is stored power
draining from the system.
3. Allow cables to remain disconnected for about 5-7 minutes
4. Reconnect battery cables onto battery, negative last.
Let me know if these steps correct the problem

I jsut tried do reinitialzation of the battery and it didn't work, the wire that was disconnected when i pulled the oem radio apart was the connected to the ipod box whick goes to the radio and the ipod cord. I checked all the other wires and they seem to be connected. I even checked the fuse and that seemed fine. not sure what else to check.
I am the orignal owner but i bought the car in august 2004 but i installed the ipod adpter beginning of this year. Do you think it will work
As long as you have your original receipt, MINI will inspect this and replace it at no charge if it is found to be defective.
