DON'T pay the dealership to do it! It takes maybe 10 minutes!

All you need are some H7 bulbs. The assembly pops out really easily, and you just pull one bulb out and replace with another.

There is a thread in the electrical forum on how to do it. Do a search. I did mine a month or so ago and it was a piece of cake!

Wait, the H7 bulb is the HIGH beam, the low beam is a HID bulb.

H7's are an easy replacement, but I've never replaced a HID bulb, but I know there's info in the electrical forum...

I believe the MCS's have HIDs for low and H7 for high standard and the MC is H7 for both unless optioned with HID's.

The H7 is low and high on a Mini without HID's. On a Mini with Xenon's, the D2R is the low and the H7 is just for a high beam. The HID bulb replacement is just as easy as a regular bulb. Theres a plug on the backside of the bulb behind a rubber housing. Just unplug it and remove the annoying retaining wire clip and it should slide out the back of the lamp housing.

Oh - and NEVER touch the bulb part when installing, ALWAYS clean the bulb glass with an alcohol wipe before installing. The oils from our fingers create hotspots on the bulb which will lead to premature failure. Touch the base only. Bulb grease doesn't hurt either, but again don't get any on the glass.
