For the most part, yes. All of the ones i've seen were the xenons.
I do think you could get the washers on the standard headlight as well. I was just checking this at work the other day, i'll have to check it again.

Look at the light housing. It probably says xenon on it or has the bulb model etched on the lens.

mine says xenon on the chrome in the headlight and etched on the lens is D2R (pre facelift)

The newer models are easy because the xenon lights look like gatlin guns and those bulbs are D2S (post facelift)

Except for one minor point: The headlight washers go off on their own at random times, when the headlights are on, supposedly based on need (or perhaps, operation time).

ive found that the headlight washers come on every 2 or 3 times with high beams on and everytime with low beam and foglights.

That isn't how mine work. I have only used my high-beams once and my fogs about 3 times.

The little headlight washers go off after every third swipe of the windshield wipers in my 2003 MCS.

I believe it's something like every 3rd or 5th time you use the windshield washer thingie.

the manual said "periodically," so I expected it about once a month.

To be honest, I've never really noticed them going off.
Guess I'm to busy paying attention to huggin' the turns.

FYI, If done carefully you can use a pin or a needle and CAREFULLY stick it in the washer nozzle " Now I'm talking about the regular washers here" and adjust the spray angle.

I was getting sick of the sunroof spray so I tilted the nozzles down a touch and no more!

Yep, learned that one day one...since I don't put the top up often, I assume I would need to get soaked to bring on some level of headlight washing?

Funny, when I was a kid, I adjusted my parents washers so one would shoot over the car and hit the car behind us, while the passenger side shot almost 90 degrees sideways. Oh, the good ole days

They might be the only thing about the MININ that I don't love... They are handy though when heavy wet snow builds up as you drive in the winter... ugh, not looking forward to that...

Maybe the programming is different now, but on the fist couple years model they squirt every third time you engage the windshield washer itself regardless of high or low beams.

Also for the first couple years model the washers only came with the xenons.
